How to Drop Mother's Day Hints

โ€‹.โ€‹

Hi Reader,

I hope your week is going well!

Mother's Day is in less than two weeks and if you typically get disappointed, it's a good idea to start dropping hints.

Here are some ideas:

  • Create a Mother's Day wish list and leave it somewhere he'll see it
  • Text him deals on things that you want like "Hey! I just saw this was on sale, it'd make a great Mother's Day gift for me!! ๐Ÿ˜‰"
  • Casually mention it as you're discussing plans for the month of May
  • Involve the kids to drop hints by telling them what you're hoping for (but remember, this may not get relayed to your spouse)

Beyond dropping hints, it's also ok to have an open conversation about it! That's what my husband and I have done for years so we don't get disappointed. This doesn't mean planning it all out for them so there aren't any surprises, just letting them know expectations, in a sense, and what you're hoping for.

Things I've said: I'd like flowers of some sort and a small gift, but don't feel you have to go overboard.

Feel free to say what you want though, if you want a new necklace, say that. A huge thing within our marriage is being honest with each other and not expecting each other to read their minds because that just never goes well.

If you're not sure what you want, check out these Mother's Day gift ideas that I put together.
