Halloween Costumes on a Budget

.

Hi Reader,

I hope you're doing well.

I'm excited, though a little nervous; I just emailed Journey, who runs the ads on my blog, officially breaking up with them. I've gone from making $60 a month to $20 a month, and it's just not worth it to have ads on my site; it's not a good user experience for you, my readers! It'll be another 30 days until I can remove the ad code from my site, but I'm excited that soon, they'll be gone! I'm a little nervous because, though the income was rather small, ads have been one of the main ways I keep my blog afloat. I think it'll all work out, though. Other ways I make money are from affiliates: when someone clicks through my blog and makes a purchase through Amazon, Target, or other things on my site. Also, when people buy printables from me. None of it is consistent, but I have faith it'll all work out.

The actual helpful thing I want to share with you this week, though, is regarding Halloween Costumes. I realize for many families, it can be quite a strain on the budget for just one night! We just spent $100 for our 3 kids' costumes. So far, we haven't bought any for us adults, and I'm not sure we will.

In years past, we've spent a lot less on costumes by buying used costumes, shopping deals, or making our own. Here is some info on how to do so, from my Easy Family Budgeting blog.

P.S. Use the code Newsletter20 for an extra 20% off everything in my shop!

Prefer to shop on Etsy since you already have an account there? You can still use Newsletter20 for an extra 20% off everything in my shop!

I'm also on Teachers Pay Teachers! Unfortunately, they don't have universal coupon codes (yet!), and only allow things related to teaching, but a LOT of my products are over there if you'd prefer to shop on TPT.

How to save $6K a year: Realize You're Naturally Beautiful and Save Money

. Hi Reader, I hope you're doing well. The blog post I'm sharing today is one that is near and dear to my heart. We're often told that we're never good enough, that we need things such as makeup, hair dye, Botox, sometimes even surgery, to make someone love us, or continue to love us as we age. I'm here to tell you, this is crap, to put it lightly. A HUGE way that we save money every month is NOT buying into all of this. In 2024, the average person spent $6,000-9,000 a year on beauty products...
